The Brockton High School CTE Multimedia Production & Broadcasting Program prepares students for high-growth, high-impact careers in digital media, video production, live broadcasting, and content creation — where storytelling meets technology and creativity meets strategy. 
 
Opening Fall 2026 — Pending Approval by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)
 
This is not a traditional media class. 
 
Students plan productions, operate professional studio equipment, manage live broadcasts, and build industry-level portfolios from freshman through senior year. All courses are Honors-level and weighted accordingly, reflecting the academic rigor, technical precision, and professional standards required in today’s media and communications industries.

Is this program only for students who want to become filmmakers? 
No. While filmmaking is one pathway, students pursue careers in broadcasting, marketing, communications, audio production, digital media, content creation, and many other creative and technical fields. 

Will students work on real productions? 
Yes. Students create authentic content for school and community audiences — producing real-world projects rather than completing only classroom simulations. 

How rigorous is the program? 
All courses are offered at the Honors level. Students engage in high-level creative work, technical production, critical analysis, and real-world problem solving, ensuring both academic rigor and career readiness.  

Can students earn money while enrolled in the program? 
Yes. Eligible upperclassmen may participate in placements aligned with media and communications careers, gaining both professional experience and income. 

What if my child changes career interests later? 
The skills developed in this program — communication, project management, editing, collaboration, leadership, and technical production — are highly transferable and valuable across nearly every modern industry.
