One of the benefits of attending a school as large as Brockton High School is that students can often find a like-minded group of friends by exploring dozens of clubs and activities. At BHS, students are encouraged to seek out activities that make them excited to go to school each day. If they can’t find a club that fits their interests, they are encouraged to start their own!

Description: The Asian club is open to anyone interested in Asian culture. You don't have to be Asian to join. Every week, we play games, plan major events, and share various aspects of Asian cultures. For example, we've made dumplings and sushi, and we've discussed K-pop. The Asian club is a great place to come and hang out with new friends!

Description: If you are interested in Astronomy- space, planets, stars, galaxies, and beyond, come hang out with us in the planetarium! This is a new student-run club where students have a say in what they want to learn and expand on your interests. In the past, we have taken part in community service with the Brockton Public Library and done nation-wide competitions which include: growing plants in Lunar soil and Marian soil, analyzing star data from NASA, and astrophotography. We have new software in our planetarium with more possibilities. The goal at the end of the year is to be able to put on a show with our club members in the planetarium to share with friends and family!

Description: The goal of the Boxer Buddies Program is to promote inclusion to students with and without disabilities, by providing fun and accessible opportunities for peers of different ability levels to spend time together, learn leadership skills, and create lasting memories while attending Brockton High School. All activities are centered around building friendships, importance of teamwork as well as participating in student led activities and civic projects which emphasize the importance of giving back to the Brockton High community.

Description: Throughout the year, CMLHS students complete service projects with the purpose of celebrating and promoting the study of world languages. Membership in the CMLHS is by invitation only. Invitations are extended to students who have:

• Completed year 3 or above in a classical or modern language course.
• Have earned a 90 average or above in their language classes.
• Have earned a passing grade in deportment for at least three semesters.
• Have demonstrated good character, leadership, and service to others.
• Have a genuine interest in learning languages.
• Promote the study of learning another language.

Description: As a part of the Brockton High School Marching Band, the BHS Color Guard adds flair and visual excitement to halftime shows and parades through flags and auxiliary equipment. It combines dance, performance, and precision movement synchronized with the music. The BHS Color Guard provides a welcoming environment where students can develop coordination, unleash their creativity, forge lasting friendships, and cultivate a strong pride in representing their school. No experience is necessary to participate.

Description: The Brockton High School Harmonics are a show choir ensemble, where music, dance, and camaraderie come together to create unforgettable performances. As a member of our ensemble, you'll experience the thrill of harmonizing with your peers, mastering intricate choreography, and bringing stories to life through song and movement. The BHS Harmonics compete at two competitions during the school year and perform the All-City Chorus Festival and Spring Choral Concert. Experience in sing and dance is encouraged, but not required.

Description: During the first few weeks of school, Juniors should expect to receive an email announcing the first meeting of the year for the Junior Executive Committee. Any interested Junior is welcome to attend and join the committee! At the first meeting, the committee will determine the groups regular meeting schedule. The Junior Executive Committee’s main focus is fund raising for the Prom. They also plan class activities and volunteer work. Information regarding running for class office will be emailed and announced closer to election time. Keep a look out!

Junior Jazz Band

Description: The Junior Jazz Band provides students with a welcoming and inclusive environment where they can learn, grow, and express themselves through jazz music. Description: The Law and Debate Club meets weekly and discusses local, national, and international news as it pertains to politics, legal matters, etc. The club also engages in debate games, mock trials, and guest speakers’ series.

Members of the club also engage in community service activities for the school and community such as working as poll volunteers and translators during elections.

The club is entirely student driven, which means it is student run. Members choose topics, activities and guest speakers based on the interests of the group.

Club members take turns running the meetings if they so choose.

If the legal field or the politics involved are something that interest you, come make your voice heard and dive into the world of Law and Debate.

Description: The BHS Marching Band performs at the Brockton High School Football games and marches parades throughout the year. They are a high energy group whose goal is to engage spectators and create an exciting atmosphere whether they are performing at football games or at community events. The marching band is recognized not only for its high standard of performance, but for the quality experience provided to its members. We believe that the musical and social growth that take place in band are a significant part of our students’ overall development. Experience in instrumental music is required.

Description: Model UN is a simulation of the United Nations for students. It helps students exercise their leadership, public speaking, and critical speaking skills. Students take on an ambassador role while debating topics of world issues, such as climate action and global health. The goals of the club are to engage students, help them obtain valuable life skills, and create leadership within the school and Brockton community.

Students will:

Obtain many networking opportunities / learn how to network.
Have a chance to travel and engage with other students and people with similar interests.
Know that change begins with them.

Description: Membership in the National Honor Society has been the true mark of student achievement for over 100 years, but it goes far beyond a report card. Members work to uphold the four pillars of NHS (scholarship, service, leadership, and character) by completing service projects that benefit our community. Applications for new members open in the fall. Once inducted, students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5, attend all required meetings, complete at least one service project and 20 community service hours per semester, and be in compliance with comportment and the Brocktonia chapter academic bylaws at all times. Membership is by application only.

Nerd Club

Description: The Nerd Club is a safe place for all types of card, RPG, and board games. Students conduct their own D & D campaigns, bring their Pokemon Cards, or just enjoy traditional strategic games like chess.

Are you curious about robotics, teamwork, and building something bigger than yourself? We’re launching a brand-new Robotics Club at Brockton High, and we’re looking for passionate students ready to help shape its future.

This isn’t just about STEM—though you’ll definitely get hands-on with tech, engineering, and innovation. It’s about building a team, a vision, and a legacy. Our ultimate goal? To become Brockton’s first-ever competitive Robotics Team and represent our city in FIRST Robotics competitions across the state.

Description: When life becomes stressful or difficult, many teens turn to the wrong things to cope with their stress. Students Against Destructive Decisions are a kind group of BHS students whose passion involves finding and sharing positive ways to live your best teen life. At weekly club meetings, we build strong relationships away from phones and tablets with a variety of different activities: we play interactive games together, complete fun arts and crafts even gardening for stress relief and individual self-expression. Additionally, we will work on several school-wide campaigns relating to destructive decisions including substance abuse and unsafe driving. We invite you to join us and feel the joy as you make some new friends while helping to build our school community.

Description: The Newspaper Club at Brockton High School produces our school publication "The Boxer Tea." It is a club where aspiring journalists and writers and even graphic designers and photographers come together to share their passion for storytelling and informing the school community.

Student members will have opportunities to write articles about topics that interest them, conduct interviews, take and publish photos and design publications. They will also collaborate with staff members and other students to give our school community the tea.

Description: Signups are from November to mid-December. Our trips start in January. We travel to Gunstock Mountain in NH for 3 Sunday Ski and Snowboard trips. One in January, one in February and one in early March. All students are welcome to join. Every year, half of our signups are students who have never gone before and are learning how to Ski or Snowboard.
