The Career and Technical Education program (CTE) at Brockton High School is an immersive four-year experience designed to prepare students for profitable employment or further education upon graduation.
Any student in grades 9 through 11 is eligible to apply for fall admission or admission during the school year subject to availability.
All of Brockton High School's CTE courses are honors-level and offer students the opportunity to earn up to 12 college credits in addition to high school credits. Students who enroll in these courses are encouraged to take dual enrollment courses while in high school to further advance their education and/or their career exploration.
Students who excel in their courses may have the opportunity to complete an independent study or internship in their field of choice. If you have interest in applying, please contact your school guidance counselor or Catherine Rickert, our Director of Vocational and Career Education, by calling 508-580-7665 or by emailing [email protected]
Brockton High CTE Programs & Pathways
Freshman Exploratory
Much like entering college without a major, Freshman Exploratory exposes students to explore all of Brockton High School's vocational programs so that they can choose the program that is the best possible fit for their interests and skill set. During their first semester of freshman year, students will rotate through each program over several days before identifying the two they feel are the best fit for them. Once they identify their top two, they will dive deeper and work on projects that will help them learn more about their interests, personalities, skills, and values as they relate to potential careers.
By the time second semester begins, they'll have chosen their preferred program and begin their studies.
Upon completing Freshman Exploratory, students will have the opportunity to choose which industry they’d like to study for their remaining three years of high school.
